Pingris on his legacy: ‘Wala na akong patutunayan’

Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard nails nine 3’s in a row!

WHILE eager to prove that he’s still got it on the hardwood, Marc Pingris believes that his legacy as a player is already intact. But with him yet to be medically cleared, that may have to wait — prolonging his agony on a mental aspect.

The Magnolia Hotshots forward suffered multiple knee injuries in last year’s iteration of the Philippine Cup. However, despite his ongoing predicament and advancing age, he was awarded a two-year contract to extend his stay with the franchise.

Since then, he has been itching to ramp up his rehab process in order to get back to what he’s used to do, which is to bring his experience for the already-gritty team.

Now 37, Pingris already has a hefty credentials including being a nine-time champion, two-time Finals MVP, three-time Defensive Player of the Year, 14-time PBA All-Star, and is dubbed as one of the league’s 40 Greatest Players.

He has also been a national team mainstay — his main highlight being the time where he was part of the Gilas team that represented the country in the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Seville, Spain.

Moving forward to his basketball career, Pingris bares that his time on the court may now be limited. However, he is at peace knowing that he will leave a lasting legacy as a hard worker and a good role model to others.
