Terrence Romeo will have to wait a little bit more for that good start that he’s raring to get with San Miguel.
The mercurial gunner will be sidelined for two more games as he recovers from a left ankle sprain, said head coach Leo Austria.
“We don’t want to aggravate his injury. He will miss two more games pa siguro,” Austria said after the team’s win against Ginebra on Sunday.
Romeo sustained the injury in third quarter of the Beermen’s opening-game loss against Columbian after appearing to have landed on Dyip guard RaShawn McCarthy’s foot.
He finished with only seven points and four assists in 12 minutes and sat out the fourth quarter of that game.
“One week rest siguro para sure, ‘yun yung sinabi sakin nung nagpa-check ako. Titignan ko kung aabot sa next game. Pero di ko kasi pwedeng madaliin eh, ang importante nandoon lagi yung suporta para sa team. At napaka-ganda ng nilalaro ng team,” Romeo said.
This means that the 26-year-old won’t be suiting up for SMB’s January 25 clash against Meralco and January 27 assignment against old team TNT KaTropa.
He’ll possibly be returning on February 1 against Rain or Shine.
