Rain or Shine got back to their winning ways as they beat San Miguel 108-98, in their Philippine Cup tussle Friday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
The Beermen opened things up with a 25-13 lead before the Elasto Painters went on a 10-2 tear to trim the deficit down to four.
Rain or Shine seized control in the second period and led by as much as 18 points, 69-51, capped off by a James Yap triple.
San Miguel got back to within striking distance though as Von Pessumal’s triple got them to within three, 89-86 early in final quarter. However, the Elasto Painters doused their rally as they went on to get their third win in four games.
Yap led the way in scoring for Rain or Shine with 21 points while prized rookie Javee Mocon had a double-double performance with 18 points and 17 rebounds.
Marcio Lassiter had 27 points while June Mar Fajardo added 24 for San Miguel, who dropped its record to 2-3.
Terrence Romeo, who just came back after missing the last two games dropped 11 points.
