Adamson overcame a sluggish start in the first quarter to score its 10th win at UE’s expense, 85-72, on Saturday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Jerrick Ahanmisi and Sean Manganti powered the Falcons’ attack once more as they scored 23 and 19 points, respectively. Jerom Lastimosa added 10.
The Red Warriors looked bent on scoring another upset early on. A Philip Manalang jumper gave them a 17-point lead, 20-3, but 18 unanswered points from Adamson brought them back.
UE led by just 24-21 after 10 minutes.
The Falcons seemingly regained their groove in the second half as they rallied behind Ahanmisi and Manganti to continue to put the pressure on UE’s defense. A bucket by the former later pushed the lead to 10, 74-64 — an advantage they wouldn’t relinquish until the final buzzer.
Papi Sarr also grabbed a career-high 23 points to go along with his nine markers for the Falcons, who improved to 10-3.
Alvin Pasaol led all scorers with 24 in the loss. Philip Manalang also chipped in 19.
Adamson’s last assignment will come against FEU on November 18. UE, on the other hand, will have a chance to at least finish the season on a positive note as they face NU on the same day.
