Manny Pacquiao joins hands with Ringstar Asia for first co-promotion venture in Manila

Thurman to Pacquiao ‘I’ll end your career like you ended De La Hoya!’

Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is all set to step up his game as a promoter with his first co-promoted fight scheduled to be held at the Resorts World Manila in Pasay City on March 23.

The eight-division world boxing champions’ MP Promotions has partnered with Ringstar Asia of Singapore to organize the event in the Philippines.

The fight will be headlined by IBO world champion Michael “Gloves on Fire” Dasmarinas, who is under Ringstar’s banner and is set to battle it out against Kenny Demecillo, in an IBF world title eliminator.

The fight which was initially set in Singapore was moved to an earlier date — March 23 — in Manila to headline Pacquiao’s first co-promotion event. The event will feature nine bouts with two title eliminators.

The fight will also feature top Singaporean boxer Muhamad “The Chosen Wan” Ridhwan, currently with a record of 11-1, who will face Cris Leon.

“I love the vision of Ringstar Asia. We are looking forward to working with them to build the next world champions in boxing,” said Pacquiao while announcing the fight.

Ringstar founder and CEO Scott Farrell said that that they are looking forward to the partnership with the 40-year-old.

“Who wouldn’t take the chance to launch a partnership with the one and only 8-division world champion, and Senator, Manny Pacquiao? I would have moved my event to an even earlier date, or to Mars if I had to. The man is a fighting legend and highly respected all over the world, and across all sports,” said Farrell.
