In case you have not heard it yet, Canelo Alvarez has tested positive for a banned drug – clenbuterol.

Canelo who is scheduled for a rematch come May 5 against Gennady Golovkin in Las Vegas had a voluntary test. His promoter, Goldey Boy Productions, mentioned that the amount of Clenbuterol found in the test was consistent with meat contamination that affected Mexican and Chinese athletes.

But what is Clenbuterol? Patrick Connor who is a boxing historian and writer explained on his twitter account earlier today.

As per Golden Boy Promotions, Canelo and his team will move their camp to the United States and will submit to additional tests.
