No hard feelings for Folayang, as he shares dessert with ONE rival Aoki

ONE Championship star Angela Lee posts message to her fans following loss to Michelle Nicolini

Embodying the true spirit of a champion, Eduard Folayang remains gracious both in victory and in defeat.

The 34-year-old Filipino mixed martial artist lost both his consciousness and his ONE Lightweight title to Japanese grappling wizard Shinya Aoki, after succumbing to an arm-triangle choke in the main event of ONE: A New Era over the weekend.

Although he did not get the outcome he was hoping for, the Team Lakay staple did not let his pride get in the way of true sportsmanship.

“We both aim to win in our last bout but only one can get that, so we decided to eat desserts together,” Folayang captioned a photo of himself and Aoki in an Instagram post.

Now 1-1 against each other, a third fight between “Tobikan Judan” and “The Landslide” seems to be in the horizon. Folayang ended Aoki’s reign as Lightweight champion back in 2016, when he stopped the Japanese legend via third-round TKO.

Folayang’s teammate, Kevin Belingon, meanwhile, will get his fourth crack against rival Bibiano Fernandez after losing his Bantamweight strap via disqualification due to illegal elbows.
