Veteran goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has agreed a new two-year contract extension with Juventus, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

At a press conference, the club announced that defender Andrea Barzagli had also put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

"I'm immensely proud in the faith Juventus have placed in me once more," 38-year-old Buffon said at the press conference.

"It's a great feeling to share this moment with my friend and colleague. I hope that my fantastic story with this club will go on and bring even further success."

Buffon's sentiments were echoed by teammate Barzagli: "I am delighted to have secured my Juve future. We already have our eyes on winning our last 2 matches.

"Even at this age, I still have room to improve and this is the best place for me to do so."

The duo won the domestic league title this season with the Bianconeri, the seventh of Buffon's illustrious career.
