They may have gotten eliminated, but that didn’t stop Iceland’s incredible fans from giving their team an amazing final send off.

Having done so superbly to reach the last eight of the European Championship, Iceland’s thrilling run came to an end against a powerful French team who secured a 5-2 vicotry on home soil in Sunday’s last quarter-final match.

Over 10,000 Iceland fans gathered to watch the match in Reykjavik, and despite their disappointment at the result, they still managed to salute their team with a truly epic Viking chant.

Iceland and their fans can certainly be proud of their collective performance at Euro 2016. This tiny nation of 300,000 people managed to shock the world by making it through the group stages before beating England and taking their place among the top eight teams in Europe.

A remarkable achievement.
