Barcelona have confirmed the signing of highly-rated young defender Samuel Umtiti on a five-year contract from Lyon, subject to a medical.
News of the deal broke last month when Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu revealed that an agreement had been reached with Les Gones.
The 22-year-old centre-back was part of the France squad that made it to the Euro 2016 final on home soil and featured three times in the knockout stages after being handed his debut against Iceland in the quarter-finals.
The La Liga champions paid €25 million to secure his services and they announced that Umtiti has a €60m buyout clause inserted in his new Blaugrana contract.
The Cameroon-born player made 30 Ligue 1 appearances OL last season as they finished runners-up to champions Paris Saint-Germain and he will be presented to the press on Friday after completing his medical tests in Catalonia.
"FC Barcelona have signed 22-year-old French international defender Samuel Umtiti from Olympique Lyonnais for the next five seasons," read a statement on the Spanish club's official website.
"Samuel Umtiti will arrive in Barcelona on Thursday afternoon local time with a photo session planned outside the club offices at a time yet to be decided.
"On Friday 15 July, in the morning the player will undergo a medical before signing his contract."
