The transfer window is hotting up and we’ve rounded up and rated the latest offerings from the rumour mill…

Edinson Cavani to Chelsea (Le 10 Sport)

Chelsea have tabled a £41.5million bid for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani as Atletico Madrid continue to be linked with a move for Diego Costa.

The Blues have been reportedly interested in Cavani in the past, with suggestions that the Uruguay international is not completely happy at the Ligue 1 champions.

The Premier League outfit are understood to have been thwarted in their attempts to sign Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid, although Everton’s Romelu Lukaku remains an alternative.

Rumour rating: 4/10. Chelsea have already signed Michy Batshuayi, while Diego Costa appears increasingly likely to stay – Conte has also revealed plans to use youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek as a striker next term.

Mauro Icardi to Arsenal (Corriere dello Sport)

Mauro Icardi

Arsenal will bid between €45-50million for Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi after talks with the player’s agent gathered pace over the past few days.

The Gunners continue to be linked with a star forward, having previously been credited with interest in Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain and Alexandre Lacazette.

Argentina international Icardi, 23, scored 16 goals and created a further four in Serie A last season, while it has been suggested Inter could be forced to sell their star player to raise funds.

Rumour rating: 3/10. Were Arsene Wenger to desperately want the striker his fans are calling for, Arsenal would probably have signed one by now – Icardi himself, meanwhile, has pledged his future to Inter.

Jordan Amavi to Liverpool (Le Parisien)

Jordan Amavi

Jurgen Klopp wants to solve Liverpool’s problem left-back position by signing Jordan Amavi from Aston Villa.

Despite missing the majority of the season through injury, Amavi was one of the few Villa players to come out of last term with any credit, as the 22-year-old looked promising in his 12 appearances.

Klopp remains unconvinced about Alberto Moreno, who can be somewhat of a liability defensively, but will face competition from Southampton and Lyon to land Amavi.

Rumour rating: 7/10. Klopp is obviously no fan of Moreno and the Reds appear to be struggling to land Ben Chilwell from Leicester, which could open the door for a move for Amavi.

Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton (Daily Telegraph)

during the UEFA EURO 2016 quarter final match between France and Iceland at Stade de France on July 3, 2016 in Paris, France.

Everton are lining up a £25million bid for Swansea attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson as Steve Walsh looks to make his mark with a number of high-profile signings after being appointed director of football.

While Sigurdsson struggled at Tottenham, the Iceland international has been one of the Premier League’s most consistent performers in his two spells at Swansea.

The Toffees are hoping to make a marquee signing to signal their intent after the takeover from Farhad Moshiri.

Rumour rating: 8/10. Everton seem prepared to splash the cash and Sigurdsson is likely to view a move to Goodison Park as a step up the ladder.
