Wayne Rooney's testimonial match between Manchester United and former club Everton that will take place at Old Trafford on Wednesday will make Facebook history.
This will be the first ever Premier League match that will be streamed live on Facebook.
The feed will happen on Rooney's and the Manchester United Facebook pages and will be available to a social media audience of around 1.7 billion people.
The 30-year-old striker, who has only ever played for the two clubs professionally, has spent 12 years playing for United.
In an interview for the official match programme at Old Trafford, Rooney said he was looking forward to what was going to be a sentimental occasion.
"I'm excited – I think it'll be a good game but also a good pre-season game, which we need going into the new season," Wayne said. "I'm grateful to the club for granting me this testimonial and hopefully, we'll raise a lot of money for charity.
"I think before the game and at the end, I might get a bit emotional, but come kick-off it'll be a normal game and it'll act as good preparation for me and the other players, as we'll get more minutes under our belts going into the new campaign."
New United signings, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly are expected to make their first ever playing appearances at Old Trafford.
