Report: Omeruo not keen on Betis loan move

I don’t feel sad, I feel happy – Torres on retirement

Chelsea's Nigerian defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has reportedly turned down an offer to join Spanish La Liga club Real Betis on loan.

According to a source quoted by the Soccernet Nigeria website, Omeruo is not willing to entertain a sizable salary cut, the player said to be earning 15,000 pounds-per-week with the Blues.

"Betis were ready to take Kenneth on loan but it would mean that he will take a huge pay cut, something like half of the salary he is on at Chelsea," claimed the source.

"That was why it was not an attractive option and it was immediately turned down."

Last season saw Omeru loaned out to Turkish top-flight outfit Kasimpasa, who are said to have matched his salary.

He has also been linked with a move to Besiktas, but this seems unlikely to happen.
