Howe explains Wilshere signing

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has explained why he feels Jack Wilshere's season-long deal will be of benefit to the club.

The 24-year-old joined the Cherries on loan from Arsenal seemingly in a bid to get more game time under his belt. The midfielder has struggled with injuries in recent seasons for the Gunners, making just 10 starts since the 2014/15 season.

The player did feature for England at Euro 2016, although he appeared to be struggling for sharpness after not playing for so long.

Nonetheless, he has an opportunity to get his career back on track at Bournemouth and Howe believes he could be a good fit at Dean Court.

He told the club's official website: "We met and had a good football talk. He can complement our style of play and maybe add that missing piece to the jigsaw.

"We had a good talk about football, about Bournemouth the place and the football club, thankfully he chose us. We'll wait and see when he'll play, hopefully as soon as possible but I don't want to set any targets."

Wilshere could make his debut when the Cherries face West Bromwich Albion in the league on 10 September.
