Bocchetti: Balotelli has ‘no brains’

Can Dortmund maintain their Bundesliga title charge against Bayern Munich?

Italy defender Salvatore Bocchetti says Mario Balotelli won't realise his potential in football because he has 'no brains'.

The Italy international defender, who currently plies his trade for Spartak Moscow, played alongside the eccentric forward during their days in the Italy youth sides and briefly with AC Milan last season.

Bocchetti recalls a couple of incidents which he witnessed that left him totally bewildered by his compatriot's actions, and claims it will hold him back from going down in the history books.

"Balotelli is a good player, but it's hard to achieve anything when you have no brains," the former Genoa man told Football Italia.

"Once, Balo threw a plate of pasta in Marco Motta's face, just because he took it before him. And there were many similar cases.

"After an Italy match, the Coach gave us a few hours off. We all went out wearing our Italy-assigned tracksuits, while Balo turned up with jeans and a leather jacket."

Balotelli has scored four goals in his opening two games for Nice in Ligue 1 this season.
