Cristiano Ronaldo insists he wants to remain at Real Madrid for “many years” despite lifting the Champions League with the La Liga giants last season.
Ronaldo has just returned to competitive action with Madrid after missing the start of the season with the knee injury sustained during Portugal’s Euro 2016 triumph during the summer.
The three-time Ballon d’Or winner has lifted the La Liga title and two Champions League trophies during his seven years at Madrid, with his current contract due to expire in 2018.
But amidst reports that Ronaldo wants to extend his deal, the motivation to continue thriving for Madrid remains undimmed for the 31-year-old.
“I’ve won the Champions League and the Euros, it’s a beautiful moment in my career and my sporting life,” he said.
“It just makes me want to keep working hard for this club.
“It’s my dream to keep playing for Real Madrid and I really want to stay here for many years because the club holds a special place in my heart.”
