Netherlands coach Danny Blind says that Luciano Spalletti should focus on his own problems, following the comments he made about Kevin Strootman.
Following their 3-3 draw against Austria Vienna in the Europa League, the AS Roma mentor criticised the Dutch national team for their treatment of Strootman.
According to Spalletti, 'Strootman was massacred by his national team' while he also claimed that 'in Netherlands, they don’t care about Roma.'
However, Blind has hit back at the allegations – suggesting that Spalletti is cutting a frustrated figure following the stalemate against Vienna.
"He should focus on his own problems," Blind told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I don’t understand what Spalletti is referring to, as we did everything the right way.
"I spoke regularly with Strootman, he never expressed any difficulties and he trained regularly.
"I don’t know if it’s the frustration Spalletti felt at drawing with Austria Vienna while Strootman was on the bench or if it’s coming from something else, but this is a strange story.
"Spalletti should focus on his own problems and we’ll mind our own business too," he concluded.
