Malaga midfielder Pablo Fornals has revealed his delight at scoring in the 3-2 defeat of Sporting Gijon in their La Liga clash on Friday night.
Borja Viguera opened the scoring for the struggling side after 13 minutes but they were pegged back by Fornals, who netted an equaliser in stoppage time at the end of the first half.
Duje Cop scored a quick-fire response, after just five second-half minutes, before Sandro Ramirez netted a 65th-minute equliser.
Lillo Castellano was dismissed for a second bookable offence with 71 minutes on the clock, enabling Malaga to secure a winner, through Michael Santos seven minutes later.
After the match, the 20-year-old attacking player told the club's website: "If the goals help us to earn points, then keep them coming.
"If the victories are like this and we achieve our objective, the struggle turns into delight.
"Right now, all the fans and ourselves are thrilled with what happened tonight."
When asked to relive his goal, Fornals said: "I gained possession following a great performance by Sandro and Santos, saw the goalkeeper had moved to the other side, so I tried to adjust the shot and found the target.
"I’m overjoyed, and I hope there are many more goals to come.
"Now it’s time to relax after this successful week, disconnect and spend time with family, so we’ll be raring to go for the forthcoming matches."
