Liverpool and Manchester United have been kept apart in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup which were drawn on Wednesday.
The Reds will take on Southampton in the two-legged affair, while United will face Hull City in two all-Premier League fixtures.
Southampton, who strolled past Arsenal with a comfortable 2-0 victory at the Emirates on Wednesday, will host Jurgen Klopp’s men at St Mary’s Stadium in the first leg before travelling to Anfield in the return game.
The Red Devils dispatched West Ham 4-1 on Wednesday and will play their first leg against Hull at Old Trafford, with the semi-final ties set to be played on the weeks commencing 9 and 23 January 2017.
Liverpool and Hull progressed on Tuesday by beating Championship sides Leeds and Newcastle respectively.
