De Mos urges PSV to sign Man City loanee

Mbappe admits he wants ‘a new challenge elsewhere’ after winning Ligue 1 player of the year

Aad de Mos, the former manager of PSV Eindhoven, has urged the club to pursue a permanent deal for Manchester City midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Zinchenko was sent out on loan to the Eredivisie champions straight after joining the English Premier League side from Russian outfit FK Ufa.

The 19-year-old Ukraine international has performed admirably for Phillip Cocu's side this season, playing right across the midfield line in versatile attacking roles within the fluid Dutch tactical system.

Now, De Mos feels he's proven he could be a key player at the Phillips Stadion if the Boeren manage to negotiate a deal with the Citizens.

"I don't know if there is an option to buy, but I would sign him up today," de Mos told PSV TV. "With him, PSV and their fans would have a lot of fun.

"The much needed creativity [this season] has come from Zinchenko."

The 19-year-old has amassed 11 caps for Ukraine since making his international debut in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualification game against Spain in October 2015.
