Bayer Leverkusen forward Kevin Volland will not play football for the remainder of 2016 after suffering a thigh injury during training on Wednesday.
The Germany international’s injury comes as a double blow to the Bundesliga club after Admir Mehmedi also picked up a knock.
Leverkusen sporting director Rudi Voller has rued the timing of the injuries with their Champions League fixture against Monaco coming up next week.
In the same day, @KeVolland strained his right thigh and will be out for 8 weeks?

“Two injuries in one day – it’s very annoying and bitter. Kevin won’t be able to play again this year, we’ll have to see with Admir,” Voller told the club’s official website.
Volland has scored three goals and registered one assist in 13 games since making a club-record transfer of €18 million from Hoffenheim.
