There were no upsets in the Coppa Italia on Thursday as Serie A clubs Bologna and Genoa advanced to the round of 16.

A brace from Anthony Mounier helped Bologna to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Verona in their fourth-round clash at Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.

Federico Di Francesco opened the scoring on 31 minutes and Mounier (39', 86') netted in both halves before Emil Krafth (90') wrapped up the win at the death.

Earlier in the evening, Genoa needed extra-time to get past Perugia in a seven-goal thriller at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

Giovanni Simeone (3') and Goran Pandev (37') handed the hosts a 2-0 lead at the break, before Rolando Bianchi (52') and Jean Drole (63') responded for the Serie B side in the second half to force an additional 30 minutes of football.

Pandev (100') struck again in extra-time and Nikola Ninkovic (116') sealed victory for the Rossoblu, although Francesco Di Nolfo (120') pulled another one back at the death to threaten penalties.
