Sterling: Lifestyle change is paying off

De Gea, Shaw, Dalot & Greenwood get tropical in Singapore with Maui Jim

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling has revealed that he has made changes to his lifestyle, which are helping him perform consistently.

The England international was criticised in the past for his disappointing performances and off-field behaviour.

However, he has now made changes that he believes has already improved him as a player and has made him a more valuable member of the City outfit.

"The environment is really good and I am keeping myself to myself, keeping away from certain stuff I was doing last year," he told Sky Sports.

"It is doing me the world of good, so that is what I need to keep doing. I am enjoying my football."

"I need to be a player who helps the team on a regular basis, not just once every few months," he added. "That is what I am trying to do. It will take time but I will get there."

The 21-year-old has scored five goals and assisted in a further seven in his 19 appearances in all competitions this season.
