Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen is the latest of several first-team stars at the English Premier League side to commit his long-term future to the club.
Following the announcement of Harry Kane's lucrative five-year contract on Thursday, the Lilywhites have confirmed that the Belgium international has signed a new three-year deal.
Vertonghen is considered one of the most reliable defenders in the Premier League and with his new deal it becomes the tenth major contract extension – as Mauricio Pochettino looks to keep the core of his squad together.

"We are delighted to announce that Jan Vertonghen has signed a new contract with the Club, which will run until 2019," read a statement on the club's official website.
"Arriving at White Hart Lane that summer, Jan was included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year during his first season at the Club and has been an integral member of the side ever since, making 179 appearances for us to date."
