Ajax Amsterdam head coach Peter Bosz says Betrand Traore has returned to his parent club after suffering an injury with club.
The Burkino Faso international joined the Eredivisie club in the off-season on a season-long loan, but surfaced at Chelsea's Cobham training ground this week – which raised questions in English media.
However, Bosz has since denied rumours that Traore's loan had been ended prematurely but rather a clause had been activated due to his recent knock.
"That's protocol. Chelsea have a requirement with loaning clubs," he told the club's website.
"If a player is injured for more than two or three days, they see him. We hope that he can come back today or tomorrow."
The 21-year-old playmaker has scored five goals and registered four assists in 19 games for the Dutch side this season.
