Montella: Atalanta could qualify for Europe

Can Dortmund maintain their Bundesliga title charge against Bayern Munich?

Milan head coach Vincenzo Montella has praised upcoming opponents Atalanta, claiming that they have a good shot at European qualification this season.

The Rossoneri will host the Orobici at the San Siro on Saturday, with the visitors trailing third-placed Milan by only four points.

Atalanta are one spot outside the Europa League qualification spots, only three points adrift fifth-placed Lazio, and Montella believes they have the ability to catch up.

"It's an important game in the race for Europe," Montella noted in his pre-match press conference.

"Atalanta have a path to the Champions League, compliments to them. It's a game which comes at the right time for both teams, and it'll give us both answers.

"We're both coming off losses we didn't deserve. I saw Atalanta against Udinese and they absolutely did not deserve to lose, we're facing an opponent in good health.

"Atalanta are one of those teams which statistically run less, but they're really well organised.

"I think this game will be even more difficult on a tactical level, because in my opinion Gasperini's teams offer something more in possession."
