Howe confident in Ibe success

Valverde faces up to the reality of Copa del Rey final defeat at the hands of Valencia

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe says club-record signing Jordan Ibe will get his rewards if he continues with his current work-ethic.

The £15 million signing has come under the spotlight on social media for all the wrong reasons this month.

After losing his place in the Cherries side to Ryan Faser, Joshua King and Junior Stanislas, the 21-year-old had to endure ridicule from Liverpool supporters on Twitter.

Ibe trended after it was revealed that the star signing has failed to register a single goal or an assist – while only having one shot on target in 20 games at his new side.

However, Howe is unconcerned over the current form, claiming the talented winger impressed him during his cameo in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

"Jordon has worked incredibly hard behind the scenes, with us and by himself, to try to improve his overall game," Howe told the Daily Echo.

"His age is not often talked about, in the sense that it is a different environment here compared with Liverpool, the pressures of the price tag and all the things he's had to deal with.

"I think he's an outstanding player technically and has all the athletic attributes we want in our wide players," he added about the England U21 star.

"He just needs to keep his head down, keep working hard and he'll get his rewards."
