FC Bayern München coach Carlo Ancelotti has described the 5-1 victory in the Champions League against Arsenal as possibly his side’s best-ever performance.
The Bavarian giants have almost secured their passage into the quarter-final phase of the contest after condemning the Gunners to a 5-1 loss at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night.
"The performance was good. Maybe was the best today, but as I said, it"s not the final," Ancelotti said in post-match comments.
"We need to play a second game – unfortunately."
The former Real Madrid mentor insisted that his charges still have work to do in the second-leg and warned against complacency heading into the tie at the Emirates Stadium in March.
"The result is really important, but we don"t want to make a mistake," he added.
"We have an advantage but we have to prepare the next game in London. We want to play like we did tonight – same intensity, same spirit, same concentration. We want to avoid problems.
"It was good. We started well, had a little problem at the end of the first half, but we played fantastic in the second half, with great intensity."
