Allegri: Europe won’t distract Juve

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has vowed not to prioritise the pursuit of the Champions League trophy over a sixth consecutive Serie A title.

Juve sit at the league summit with 60 points collected from their 24 matches played and have a seven-point lead over second-placed Roma.

But, Allegri's side also have one eye on the European Cup which they lost won 22 years ago, although the Italian has called for focus on the domestic front.

"We need to keep any thought of that out of our head… because [Palermo] is a game we need to win," Allegri said in a press conference.

"League titles depend on winning these matches. Since [new head coach Diego] Lopez took over at Palermo they've had a win, a draw and a defeat at home.

"They're a more organised team, who don't allow space so we have to be technically quick, aggressive and above all aware that we can't slip up.

"There are fewer than 14 games to go until the end of the season, and any mistake could cost us dearly."

The Bianconeri face second-from-bottom Palermo on Friday before turning their attention to their Champions League tie with FC Porto the following Wednesday, and Allegri has called for his team to have right mentality going into each of the games.

"So we need to have the right attitude<" he added. "We'll see whether the ball goes in [the goal] or not, but we can't get our attitude wrong. The lads know that and they're very responsible.

"We're aiming for three points. We want to go all the way in the league, Coppa Italia and Champions League. Our approach needs to be spot on."
