Coman to make Bayern move permanent

Valverde faces up to the reality of Copa del Rey final defeat at the hands of Valencia

FC Bayern München have confirmed they will sign Kingsley Coman on a permanent deal from Juventus, after the winger spent the last two seasons on loan at the Allianz Arena.

The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Bavarian giants, having already won domestic doubles in France, Italy and Germany – with another league title on its way.

The Bundesliga champions announced they will trigger an option in the loan agreement to acquire Coman’s signature on a three-year contract for €21 million at the end of the campaign.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: “He is a player with huge potential. We’re convinced that he will be of great help to us in the coming years.

‘I believe he is a highly talented player. Unfortunately he had problems following the European Championship and was injured for three months.

“However, he has the talent and the potential to do great things. He is one of the players we are relying on in the future.

“He is a very young player who already plays regularly for the French national team and who has gathered experience at the European Championship.

“We are convinced he will make his mark and that is why we have decided to sign him. I really don’t believe you have to worry about the future of Bayern.

“Next season we will once more field a strong, competitive team that will not only play for the major trophies, but win them.”
