Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was full of praise for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick after Thursday's derby stalemate at the Etihad Stadium.
The two were seen embracing after the goalless draw. Guardiola also lauded the Red Devils player prior to the start of the match.
When asked about their exchange at the final whistle, Carrick replied: "He said 'congratulations' and 'well played'.
"He's obviously a terrific manager, he's had success wherever he's been and I have a lot of respect for him."
And, the Spaniard returned the favour, calling Carrick one of the best holding midfielders he's ever seen.
"He's the level of Xabi Alonso, Sergio Busquets in Barcelona and Munich," said the former Barca and Bayern manager.
