League winning Feyenoord coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst says Robin van Persie “would certainly fit” in at the club amid rumours of a possible return for the Dutch striker.
The 33-year-old former Feyenoord, Arsenal and Manchester United forward, who is currently on the books of Turkish giants Fenerbahce, is said to be keen on a final swansong with his former team.
The Rotterdam-born Van Persie scored 21 times in 76 games for the 2016/17 Eredivisie winners before being signed by Arsene Wenger in 2004.
Speaking to RTV Rijnmond, Van Bronckhorst said: "He would certainly fit at Feyenoord. With his past, what he has achieved and how he still performs.
“These are the days of rumors, but I do notice after the championship and the stage (Champions League) you can offer that a lot of players want to come to Feyenoord. The next weeks will give it shape."
