Kovac ready to fight for DFB-Pokal crown

Highlights – Abahani Limited Dhaka vs 4.25 SC

Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Niko Kovac insists he is not intimidated by the fact his side are underdogs for the DFB-Pokal final against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.

While Dortmund concluded the recent Bundesliga season in third place, which was actually a disappointing result for the title hopefuls, Frankfurt finished 22 points worse of in 11th.

The kicker is that the Eagles will be delighted with their finish having almost been relegated last term.

The gulf in class between the two squads, on paper at least, is also clear for anyone to see, with Dortmund boasting world-class superstars such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Marco Rues, among their ranks.

However, despite all that, Kovac is adamant his side will give their all against BVB and believes they are able to give them a decent run for their money.

"Dortmund are better than us at football. But we also have other virtues. We will not make it easy for them and will throw everything at them," he told reporters.

"On paper we are outsiders. But in a game everything is possible. We're going to Berlin with self-confidence.

"Training before the game will be the same as always. It does not make any difference. The whole club will accompany us to Berlin. All injured players will come along."
