FC Bayern München have expressed pride at winning five Bundesliga titles in a row, and paid tribute to record breakers Phillipp Lahm and Robert Lewandowski.

Lahm, who is now retired, joins some elite company in legends Oliver Kahn, Mehmet Scholl and Bastian Schweinsteiger, in winning eight league crowns.

The club’s official website said: “Five Bundesliga titles in a row – no team has ever achieved that before! The 2017 championship was Lahm’s eighth and draws him level with record holders Kahn, Scholl and Schweinsteiger.”

In addition, Lahm’s winning percentage was also up there among the greats. Bayern added: “Philipp Lahm ends his career with a round 250 wins in the Bundesliga, putting him third on the all-time list. Only Kahn (310) and Manfred Kaltz (291) have left the pitch victorious more times than Lahm.”

Meanwhile, Lewandowski was hailed for back-to-back scoring seasons of 30 goals or more. The club said: “He ended the season on 30 goals to become only the second player in Bundesliga history to score 30 goals or more in two consecutive campaigns. Only the legendary Gerd Muller has previously achieved that.”
