Utrecht have announced the signing of striker Simon Makienok as they continue to bolster their ranks ahead of the new season.
Makienok becomes the Eredivisie side’s third signing, with free agent and midfielder Chris David also set to join the club when fully fit. David will be departing Go Ahead Eagles.
Utrecht had previously unveiled Cyriel Dessers and Sander van de Streek.
The tall Danish Makienok joins the side from Palermo on a four-year deal.
Makienok, who began his career as a youth with Naestved BK, has also played for Herfølge BK, HB Køge, Brøndby, Palermo and Charlton Athletic and Preston North End on loan, and has six caps for the Danish national team.
Manager Erik ten Hag told the club's official website he was delighted with the signing of Makienok, who he described as a 'fast and strong striker with an eye for goal'.
