Defender to hold Chelsea talks after Borussia loan

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen will hold talks with boss Antonio Conte about his future after spending two years on loan at Borussia VfL 1900 Mönchengladbach e.V.

Christensen has impressed during his pair of seasons in the Bundesliga after establishing himself as a regular in the Mönchengladbach line-up.

Despite making just one Premier League appearance for Chelsea, Christensen remains on the books at Stamford Bridge and will speak with Conte at the start of pre-season training next month, before deciding on his long-term future.

"I will join up with Chelsea on July 7," he told BT Sport.

"I haven't talked to Conte yet.

"I have talked to the sporting director and all those responsible for getting the players set up with a flat and what else belongs to them.

"The sports director says the plan is that I meet like all the others and go through the pre-season."

Christensen’s sole Premier League outing in a Chelsea shirt came during the 2014-15 campaign under Jose Mourinho.
