Mourinho: I choose teams in big trouble

Jose Mourinho claims he is awful at choosing jobs, after taking charge of Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United when they were all in "big trouble".

The 54-year-old announced himself to the world in 2004 when he guided FC Porto to the Champions League title, which earned him a move to the Premier League with Chelsea.

Mourinho turned the Blues into a dominant force in England before heading to Italy with Inter, where he won Europe's elite club competition again as part of a historic treble in 2010.

'The Special One' then took over at Real and led them to a first La Liga title for four years in 2012, followed by more success at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford.

Mourinho etched his name into United folklore by winning the EFL Cup and the Europa League in his first season at the helm – the first manager in the club's history to do so.

But he told Portuguese newspaper Expresso: "I'm terrible at picking teams. I always choose teams, as they say in England, in big trouble.

"Inter was in big trouble, Real Madrid was in big trouble, Manchester United in big trouble, that is, always in big trouble."
