Leicester midfielder Nampalys Mendy has his heart set on a return to France during the upcoming transfer window with interest coming from Bordeaux.
The former France youth international only joined the Foxes last year after three seasons with Nice, but a troublesome ankle injury ruined his debut in the Premier League.
Mendy managed just eight appearances in all competitions for the East Midlands club as the problem required two operations, although he is finally on the mend.
Nantes have been linked with a move for the 25-year-old after former City manager Claudio Ranieri recently took over the reins, but a third reunion looks unlikely as he is determined to join Les Girondins.
"I heard about the interest of Nantes, but neither me nor my adviser have been contacted," the Monaco youth product told L'Equipe.
"Anyway, since my adviser talked to me about the possibility of joining Bordeaux, I'm set on it.
"I've lost a year in England because of a failed ankle surgery, which unfortunately necessitated a second operation in March.
"Even though I am not 100 per cent yet, I have just returned from an excellent rehabilitation phase.
"And now I have the hope of rallying the Girondins [Bordeaux] fairly quickly. It's even an obsession."
