Lyon have announced the signing of Ferland Mendy on a five-year contract from Le Havre, while confirming the departures of Rachid Ghezzal and Maxime Gonalons.

Left-back Mendy spent the last two seasons playing in the second tier of French football after progressing from the Normandy club's famed youth system.

The 22-year-old will now make the step up to Ligue 1 with Les Gones, who completed their second deal of the week following Bertrand Traore's €10 million switch from Chelsea on Monday.

"I'm very happy to be at Lyon and I cannot wait for the season to start," Mendy told a press conference at his unveiling.

"It is a club that has ambition and a great project. I did not hesitate. There are many young players at Lyon. I was told that it was a good group, a good collective."

Meanwhile, OL president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that youth product Ghezzal will not be renewing terms at Parc Olympique Lyonnais, while they have agreed to cancel Gonalons' contract to allow him to join Roma.

"Maxime came this morning and signed his endorsement of termination," Aulas said. "We started talks with Roma. We left on good terms."
