The Malaysian and Singaporean U22 football teams have been drawn in the easier group for the 2017 Southeast Asian Games.
The two teams have been drawn in Group A, along with five-time champions Myanmar, Laos and Brunei. Group A will also feature less matches in the group stage, as it has five teams compared to the six in Group B.
In contrast, Group B features defending champions Thailand, AFC conference leaders Phillipines, 2015 bronze medalists Vietnam, as well as Indonesia, Cambodia and Timor-Leste.
The top two teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals, with the final to be hosted at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur next month.
