UK reports suggest Manchester United are close to completing a deal worth £45m for Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
United reportedly had an initial offer of £39m for the Croatia international rejected, with Inter standing firm on their £48m asking price.
It seems a deal could be made at £45m, as Perisic is said to be keen for Inter to sanction his move to Manchester as quickly as possible.
United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is reportedly staying in the UK as United begin their pre-season tour in the US in order to close the deal.
The winger is currently with Inter at their pre-season training camp in northern Italy. But he appears to be eyeing greener pastures, despite having three years left on his contract.
Perisic was due to meet with Inter boss Luciano Spalletti last week to discuss his future.
“You keep talking about Perisic and his desire to leave but I need to listen to his own words first and then decide how to act,” Spalletti said at the time.
“I hope to have him in the side, I am counting on it and I am positive in that sense.”
Perisic also fueled the fire of a move to Old Trafford himself when he tweeted out a simple red circle a few days ago, echoing the blue and black circle he tweeted out prior to joining his current club, Inter.
