Januzaj completes United exit

Adnan Januzaj has severed ties with Manchester United after the Belgian winger completed a £9.8million move to La Liga outfit Real Sociedad.

Januzaj burst onto the scene as a 17-year-old at Old Trafford under the reign of then United manager David Moyes.

But he has fallen from grace over the last two seasons and been sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund and then Sunderland.

Januzaj was told by United boss Jose Mourinho that he could leave the club this summer and the 22-year-old has now rubber-stamped his move to Spain.

“Thank you to some of the coaches and staff that work at Manchester United to make it a great club,” Januzaj said on Instagram.

“Unfortunately, my time at the club has come to an end and it didn’t go the way I wanted it to go but I will always have love for Manchester United.”

Januzaj – who will be unveiled by Sociedad on Thursday – only had another 12 months remaining on his United contract and made a minimal impression during Sunderland’s relegation last season.
