Inter chief shoots down Perisic to United

Manchester United’s hopes of landing Ivan Perisic seem slim after Inter Milan director Piero Ausilio insisted that the transfer is off.

The Red Devils have been strongly linked with the Croatian midfielder, but Inter are asking for €55m and are seemingly not happy with what United have offered.

"It’s not happening," Ausilio said on Sky Sport Italia. "Perisic is training with us and so far we have not taken into consideration anything that Manchester United have offered us."

With Perisic seemingly off the market and interest in Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic cooled, United could now focus their attention on their other reported midfield target: Tottenham’s Eric Dier.

The Telegraph reports that Spurs have already turned down an offer from United, as Jose Mourinho’s search for a holding midfielder continues.
