Ancelotti: James Rodriguez will improve Bayern

Mahrez reflects on ”extraordinary” AFCON achievement

FC Bayern München manager Carlo Ancelotti expressed his satisfaction with the arrival of new signing James Rodriguez, insisting that he will improve Die Roten.

The 26-year-old left Real Madrid this week to sign for Bayern on a two-year loan deal, reuniting with his former Los Merengues boss Ancelotti.

The Italian tactician was at the Madrid helm in 2014 when James was signed from AS Monaco, and he is delighted to have the Colombian in his team once again.

"It's a special moment for me – we enjoyed great experiences together,” Ancelotti said at the player's unveiling, according to Football Espana.

"Everyone knows his qualities and he will improve us. He is a great attacking midfielder, a special player and will find a good position in our team – he can play in every attacking position.

"Of course there's greater competition for places. However, that should motivate everyone. It's not a problem for me to leave a player on the bench.

"Every stage of your career, all the experiences can you help you grow as a player.

"He didn't play regularly last season but that can perhaps motivate him to have even more desire to achieve the breakthrough here."
