Vitesse Arnhem goalkeeper Eloy Room could be on the verge of joining Everton after refusing to sign a new contract with the Eredivisie side.

Vitas coach Henk Fraser revealed there had been a lot of interest in the 28-year-old goalkeeper, who was linked with the Toffees this week.

Fraser explained; "Everyone has ambition, both the player and the club Vitesse. There is also much interest in him. Room knows how I feel about him, but this is obviously been his own choice.”

Room, who has one year left on his current contract, could be a replacement for Joel Robles, who is expected to leave Everton. Meanwhile ,Vitesse have already signed Remko Pasveer from PSV Eindhoven as a replacement for their wantaway keeper.
