Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has quashed reports linking the club with a move for Paris Saint-Germain star Angel Di Maria.
The Serie A giants are said to be considering a swoop for the Argentina international, but Ausilio has revealed that his sky-high wages remain a real sticking point.
According to Ausilio, Di Maria earns three to four times more than the Italian team’s highest-paid players.
"Dreams are nice because they can be achieved, but my reality makes me follow other arguments," Ausilio told Sky Italia.
"The team must be built with logic and you have to take the group into account. You cannot think of bringing those in who earn three or four times more than our best player.
"However, this does not exclude important opportunities to improve Inter. We may want to evaluate young players and top players who could find a new dimension at Inter."
