The agent of Siem De Jong has quashed rumours that the Newcastle playmaker has agreed to return to the Eredivisie for the upcoming season.
Reports surfaced in English media this week claiming the Netherlands international has agreed to rejoin PSV on a permanent deal after spending last season on loan with Phillip Cocu's side.
After two injury-hit campaigns on Tyneside, De Jong joined De Boeren on a season-long loan, while the Magpies won the English Championship to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
And his agent, Louis Laros, feels the 28-year-old's seven goals in 25 games for PSV proved he still holds the sufficient quality for Toon boss Rafael Benitez, who has been struggling to add players in the current transfer window.
"That's absolute nonsense," Laros told Voetbal International when asked if De Jong has been offered to his former club.
"I really know nothing about it. The club could have done it behind my back, but that seems strong because I have good contacts with Newcastle."
