Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is expecting a tougher campaign ahead after their Serie A rivals strengthened during the transfer window.
The Old Lady won both the league and the Coppa Italia last season while also reaching the Champions League final, but Buffon warned of a tougher season ahead.
"It’ll be very difficult for Juventus this year, because many teams have strengthened, such as Roma, Inter and Milan, while Napoli kept their stars," Buffon said.
"Juve believe in our capabilities, though, in the values that brought us success and think we can still give our best."
Buffon was speaking from the United States after a penalty shootout victory over Roma in the International Champions Cup. The match finished 1-1 after Edin Dzeko cancelled out an opener from Mario Mandzukic.
"It was a good tour of the US and important for us to find our form towards the start of the season," Buffon added, with their preseason fixtures in the States including wins over Roma and PSG and defeat to Barcelona.
