Sneijder poised for France switch

Netherlands international playmaker Wesley Sneijder looks set for a switch to France, with Ligue 1 surprise package OGC Nice in talks with the player's representatives.

Dutch publication Voetbal International reported that the most capped footballer for the Oranje with 131 appearances will be joining Lucien Favre's side before the end of the week.

The 33-year-old has been a free agent since terminating his own contract with Galatasaray, after being deemed surplus to requirements by head coach Igor Tudor.

It's been reported that FC Utrecht and MLS clubs were interested in the former Real Madrid man's services but have subsequently been priced out by the UEFA Champions League participants. His agent, Guido Albers is reportedly negotiating the final details of the lucrative deal.

A move to the French top-flight will see the veteran midfielder reunite himself with Mario Balotelli, whom he played alongside during the historic treble winning season with Internazionale seven years ago.
