Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that he will look to offload players before signing any new ones before the end of the transfer window.
The Gunners have brought in Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac so far, but any further additions would require departures first.
Wenger's senior squad has grown to 33 players and the Frenchman is keen to wittle it down before potentially adding more quality. Striker Lucas Perez seems to be one of the players headed for the exit door later this month.
"The number (in the squad) is too high. We will let some players go," Wenger said after the Community Shield win against Chelsea, as quoted by Sky Sports.
"Too much competition for places is detrimental, but not enough competition for places is detrimental as well."
